New and familiar faces perform at Chill Chamber
NEW PORT RICHEY There were familiar
faces and new performers at the local
finals of Talent Quest Sunshine State held
at the Chill Chamber March 27. The mix of
old friends and new friends made for a
festive atmosphere and for some great
entertainment.
The local final was a combination of
sorts, with qualifying singers coming from
the now-closed O'Nessa's as well as the
Chill Chamber.
"Chill Chamber stepped up and took over
this contest and we had a great time," said
contest co-owner and emcee Steve
Blanchard. "The contestants did a
great job and I'm glad we had the opportunity to hear them and advance the singers we did."
The largest category was Men's Masters, followed by women's country. The singers seemed
prepared, thanks to the efforts of contest coordinator and KJ Monica and her assistant, Alice.
"The contestants looked great but there were some nerves," said contest co-owner and head
judge Phil Garris. "But it's a learning process and everyone seemed excited about moving forward
to the next step. I can't wait to see what they bring to the regional finals.
Talent Quest Sunshine State is April 7-10 at the Double Tree Westshore Hotel in Tampa. Each
qualified singer is guaranteed at least two performances at the regional finals.
Tickets for non-competitors are available on our "Tickets" link above and a Regional Schedule is
