Talent Quest returns to The Bar to enthusiastic crowd
|
LAKE WORTH For the second time,
The Bar of Lake Worth experienced
Talent Quest when Sunshine State
returned to the small bar on March
24.
The crowd was enthusiastic
throughout the competition-and
especially when the qualifying
singers were announced.
"The energy in this place is
incredible and the singers were
really supportive of each other,"
said Phil Garris, head judge and
contest co-owner. "We saw a few
familiar faces but also saw some
new talent. It was a fun night."
In all, 14 singers advanced through
to the regional finals during
a night where there was standing room only. Several of the singers were unsure about the details of
Talent Quest Sunshine State.
"I had one contestant tell me she didn't know what she'd gotten herself into," said emcee and contest
co-owner Steve Blanchard. "I love that about this contest. People are unassuming because they hear
'karaoke' and then realize this contest really takes it to the next level. I think that contestant could do
well in Tampa."
Talent Quest Sunshine State is April 7-10 at the Double Tree Westshore Hotel in Tampa. Each qualified
singer is guaranteed at least two performances at the regional finals.
Tickets for non-competitors are available on our "Tickets" link above and a Regional Schedule is also
linked at the top of this page.
